Poetry - "All I Can Do"

All I Can Do

inner voice compels me
not to act
but to write
about the frustration
and madness
of watching the world
being used and abused
by men who cannot grasp
they are fighting over something
that does not belong to them

and all i can do
is sit here and watch
and write
about the frustration
and madness
of seeing sadist fathers
slaughter their sons
while masochistic mothers
devour their daughters
even the children
raping and killing one another

and i cannot stop them

all i can do
is sit here and watch
and write
about the frustration
and madness
wishing waving my hand
or crying out in the night
could end the insanity
and stop these silly monkeys
from staining their hands
with their fellow mans blood

but…i can not

all i can do
is sit here and watch
and write
about the frustration
and madness
of knowing that many who care
are frozen by fear
slowly put to death
so the current

"order of things”

is not disturbed

so in quiet pain
the caring shall live

and all i can do

is sit here

and watch

and write
